ISLAMABAD, May 16: The government has revised current year's real economic growth rate at 4.1 per cent – much higher than the 3.3 per cent announced earlier – mainly because of a major downward revision in growth and production figures for the last two years.
Informed sources told Dawn on Sunday that last year's (2008-09) real economic growth (commonly defined as Gross Domestic Product) rate had been revised downwards to a paltry 1.2 per cent from two per cent announced and hitherto acknowledged by the government.
